No walnuts and no groves
Tonight at Snowdonia Dragons:
--The Oracle of Delphi
I've probably already said as much as there is to say about Walnut Grove. It's one of my favourite Euro games. It has the Agricola-esque feature of never being able to do everything you want to, but has a bit more control and forgiveness to it (plus it's a lot shorter). Delightful.
The Oracle of Delphi is the new release from Stefan Feld, who I'm finding I tend to appreciate as a designer. It's quite un-Feld in many ways, being a race to completion with not a single victory point in sight. In other ways (dice-driven actions, several objectives competing for your attention) it's classic Feld. I enjoyed it more than I expected to. Also, it's a
pain to explain - a pretty simple game really, but with lots of little fiddly things. Fun, in any case. I'm keeping it.
